+1 Fallen Warden.
WHO: Variks and you!
WHAT: For-fun NPC voicetesting.
WHERE: The Reef.
WHEN: Early House of Wolves timeline.
RATING: n/a
The Reef is in a state of disarray.
Variks can't say he was entirely surprised by this turn of affairs; though his people had fallen far from their sophisticated, splendid past, they still carried a sense of tattered nobility that hadn't meshed easily with servitude. Even the Queen, in all of her power--and make no mistake, Variks knew she held that in abundance-- and self-proclaimed mercy could not stave that sort pride forever.
Now the time for revolt had come, and it was chaos. The normally peaceful sort of coexistence in the Reef had shattered and gave way as the House of Wolves rose up against the Awoken. Open conflicts were cropping up more and more often, and casualties had been steadily piling up on both sides... and Variks found himself in the middle of it all. Many Wolves had come to him, offering him a place amongst their ranks and gradually snapping at his heels like the earth beasts they were named from when his allegiance didn't waver. How could it? He was one of the last known members of the House of Judgment; the Queen had given him a home, a place to belong. He wouldn't cast that aside at the first sign of hardship. He had earned his title of The Loyal.
Which wasn't to say that everyone had immediately warmed up to him. He could understand the suspicion when it was his own kind that was busy tearing apart the Reef and ravaging the Fallen-occupied planets of the solar system. Whether it was the Queen's personnel or the Guardians she had opened the Tower to coming to visit him, the warden would do his best to continue to prove himself useful.
